The long-awaited Logan Farm Park expansion is open. City officials said in mid-2016 that the park would open in late 2016 in time for the holidays. A ribbon cutting was held Dec. 20.

The expansion adds 15 acres to the 120-acre Logan Farm Park, which winds through the center of the city along Cherokee and Taylor streets. The addition includes a large playground, a group shelter, restrooms, more walking trails and greenspace.
Money for the expansion was provided by a Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) approved by voters.
