Allatoona Book Festival

Sponsored by Acworth Cultural Arts Center, featuring writers and artists. Headliners: Janisse Ray, Valerie Boyd, Jim Auchmutey and Teresa Weaver. Workshops, readings, book displays and a keynote address by Ray, author of “Ecology of a Cracker Childhood.”
Friday: Meet-and-greet with featured authors, Dogwood Terrace Club Room. 5-9 p.m.
Saturday: Activities all day at The Roberts School Community and Education Center, 4681 School St.
The City of Acworth Tourism Bureau hosts a free breakfast at 8:30 a.m., followed by speakers, panels and workshops about the craft of writing, how to get published and trends in the world of literature. Primary topics include nonfiction, fiction, children’s, mystery, science fiction and poetry. Last panel discussion begins at 4 p.m. Free and open to the public. 4681 School St., Acworth.
